Hi there my name is Leanne Clarke and i work at Hair Haus in Bishop Auckland Co.Durham, i have been a member of the crazy team for 3 short years and really enjoy it.I started my training at BL Hairdressing when i started Hair Haus and really enjoyed how you did your training whilst working. Now i am qualified i run my own coloumn which is why i am writing this blog so all you people who are interested in hairdressing can see what goes on from day to day.
In this last year i have done loads of courses which help me progress but also keep you up to date with the latest fashions, one of the first ones i did this year which i thouroghly enjoyed was going down to leeds for the day to watch a GHD roadshow which involved loads of different put up techniques, iron techniques, make up ideas and even had the fashion man off t.v's This Morning showing us what was in and what was out! I really enjoyed that day as it made me wanna get back into the salon and start trying the techniques out like "rick, racking" which involved criss crossing hair wrapped in foil then setting it with straightners and then taking it out to give you a beautiful crimped effect.
Another massive thing i have done this year was i got the chance to go down to London with the salon owner (Mark) and salon manager (Kendra) and help out with doing 3 professional models hairs and also a girl who won our face of Hair Haus competition hair for a photoshoot we were doing for the British Hairdressing Awards. This was huge for me as i got the chance to see what goes on when doing a photoshoot and also how much time, effort and money goes into making it a success! That day i also got the chance to work with a clothes stylist and make up artist that work for Tigi and also got the chance to meet Mr. Anthony Moscolo!!
This year all of our team got to go to Salon International, one of the biggest hair shows that exists, this happens every year at London and people from all over the world come to watch session artists up on stage doing their thing. The names include Paterick Cameron (which i saw in flesh!!) Tigi, Loreal, Paul Mitchell etc.
So when there is nothing as exciting as those sort of things happening, then i am in the salon doing average day to day things which can include doing clients hairs, cutting and colouring, practicing new put ups, helping the younder members of the team with things they find hard or even thoery lessons like since Tigi brought colour out our salon have been having in Salon training as we have started using Tigi colour to go with their products which we use and sell.
